I am sure that you, all 3 of my readers, have heard about the developing scandal in the NBA. Apparently, Tim Donaghy, a referee, is being investigated by the FBI for betting on games, including some in which he officiated. On top of that, the gambling is reportedly related to some crime families to which he is indebted. All around, this is a bad situation. But is that why I am angry? No! My anger is reserved for a certain ESPN writer: Bill Simmons.

Heat’s List Of Potential Guards Shrinks Again…
July 19th, 2007 — Team News
Well, I just read a report on ESPN that is reporting that Steve Francis has reunited with the Rockets. According to the article, Francis turned down a higher offer from the Miami Heat. Reading into this, it seems that players around the league believe that the Heat’s immediate future is bleak; and it is hard to argue with that sentiment. The Heat have failed over and over again to land a quality free agent this off season and it seems that the problems are snowballing and affecting their current bargaining power. Nevertheless, there are still a few names on the market, including Juan Carlos Navarro.
My First Blog Carnival
July 16th, 2007 — Site News
Well, this sounds mighty weird to say, but I just participated in a Blog Carnival. Yes, that is one of the strangest terms in the blogosphere; to go along with blogosphere… Anyhow, it was an NBA Carnival put together by With Malice called Made in Japan. I am just really honored to be part of what seems to be a fairly long standing tradition (it is apparently the 46th in the series) and I definitely will be participating in the future. I highly recommend that you not only read the articles, but participate as well if you get the chance. If you still aren’t sure what the heck I am talking about, just read on!
Alonzo Mourning Will be Back for 1 More Year
July 15th, 2007 — Team News
According to ESPN, Alonzo Mourning has decided to stay with the Miami Heat 1 more year before retiring. It ended about 3 months of what can only be described as sweat inducing suspense for Heat fans. Besides the blistering temperatures outside, fans, players and the team were nervously awaiting a decision from Zo. The indecision itself had become a story in the South Florida sports market. But, at last we have the news! Mourning will play for 1 more year and then retire… probably.
Can You Feel the Heat? I Already Am!
July 15th, 2007 — Editorials
I am getting more and more excited for the season to start. Even though I am having doubts about the Miami Heat’s Offseason so far, I still cannot wait for the season to begin. Even if Miami does not land any new players, I still know that the team will be exciting to watch. Hell, any team with Dwayne Wade and Shaq would be exciting; besides also having a chance to win every game as long as they are both healthy. Then, add to that the building buzz that Dorell Wright is generating this offseason. I mean, he hardly plays, but when I have seen him, he has been just a phenomenal athlete. And if he has been working on his jumper and the 3, I just can’t wait to see him in action. All of that being said, here is a great highlight reel from the 2007 season that I found at YouTube. It was made by M.Y.K.
The Miami Heat Summer League Recap
July 13th, 2007 — Game Recaps, Team News
The Miami Heat finished their Pepsi Summer League schedule today and everything went just as was expected; boring. Don’t get me wrong; these games are valuable for the younger players and they are great ways for coaches to evaluate talent. But that does not make them any less boring. Even out of the 2 Summer Leagues that were playing, the Heat played in the more boring one… Oh well. The games are over and it is now time to analyze. Hooray! Let’s recap all the action!

- The Best Players in the NBA - Tournament - Rules
Welcome to the latest brainchild of mine: The Best Players in the NBA Tournament! This series will feature all of the hottest stars in the league right now, and they will compete in a tournament to see who the best player is. Now don’t get too excited; there will be no actual one on one games. It is going to be based off of my opinions and observations, along with cold hard stats. However, if you disagree with what I come up with, feel free to leave a scathing comment! This post is just an intro to the Tournament and will explain how I am rating all of the players. I am also going to describe the format of the tournament. So, let’s get on to the rules!
