Heat Sign Rookie Daequan Cook

Daequan Cook will be at Miami’s Summer CampWell, that did not take too long! The Miami Heat and Daequan Cook announced today that they have agreed to terms and signed a contract. Cook was a guard at Ohio State only for one year. He is slated to earn about $2 million for the first 2 years, and if the Heat exercise their option, he will be making $4 million. This mean that Daequan Cook will be able to participate with the Miami Heat’s summer league team.

Cook averaged almost 10 points last season with the Buckeyes and shot 41.5% from behind the arc. Given that Jason Kapono just headed off to Canada, the Heat will need another sharpshooter to fill his shoes; not easy, considering Kapono was the NBA’s best 3 point shooter from last season. The summer league practices began today. Here’s hoping that Cook was the best of the 3 fabulous Ohio State freshmen!

Is Cook the best of the Buckeyes?
